Last night, at the 20th anniversary reception at the HART General Meeting, an amazing thing happened. It wasn't planned, it just happened, and it serves notice that the WirelessHART standard is much more mature in its behavior than we thought.
There was a parade of new product announcements from MACTek, Emerson, Pepperl+Fuchs, Phoenix Contact and ProComSol that were released today by the HART Communication Foundation-- that would have been released at Hannover Messe:

As the ISA100.11a draft standard nears approval, the chorus of vendors committed to WirelessHART, at least for now, continues to swell. Last month, at Interkama, ELPRO Technologies, Emerson, Endress+Hauser, Pepperl+Fuchs and MACTek all launched WirelessHART products.
In yet another announcement that continues to bolster the new WirelessHART specification's market position-- and continues to underscore its reality---MACTek has released two WirelessHART products with availability in third quarter 2008. Why this is especially interesting is that MACTek makes no field instruments.
