The supreme leadership has changed, with Isao Uchida as Chairman, Shuzo Kaihori as CEO and President...that's not changed, but Kurosu-san is now head of YEI global...with most of Yokogawa's business...75% of which is outside Japan.

Minaki-san is now head of IA Business with marketing, systems business unit and the field instruments, network Solutions and Analytical business units under him. I guess Minaki gets to move back from Singapore...

"We have about 20K DCS systems installed, and about that many employees. If we add 5000 more employees we should sell another 5K worth of systems."

"We grew the company last year! Our fiscal is April to March...and we grew more in the second half with all its challenges, than we did in the first half."

"We are now $320 million in YCA. Products are $140 million, systems and engineering $160 million, with services at $20 million. We have 387 employees in Atlanta, 370 in Houston, 47 in Canada and Mexico, and 73 others (our regional sales people). We have had NO layoffs."

"We will be moving our HQ to Houston."

Johnson talked about taking the Vigilant Plant Van to the customers...with over 3500 visitors and 92 events in the last 6 months.

Three key solutions in 2009:

1. Real-time Production Organizer

2. Tunable Diode Laser Analyzer

3. Intelligent Remote Terminal Unit (Stardom) SCADA package focused on well-head control.

"This is one of the first times that we've developed products that, let me say this as nicely as we can, are customer focused."

"Engineering is now asking customers what they want, rather than the Field of Dreams concept we were working with for so long..."

Migration's biggest feature is backwards compatibility...very important.

Johnson talked about R&D...and Yokogawa's incredible commitment to R&D.

Johnson talked about quality and environmental management, and Yokogawa's long-standing commitment to a global environment sustainable society.

"Japan has no natural resources. We've been conserving for ever. We have lived sustainability for the last ten or twenty years."

"Yokogawa is actively involved in social activities. What we do is very important. This is something that the next generation needs to hear. We care about our people. Heart, Intellect and Body. It is very important to talk about our heart and our soul."
