The Harrow Report

Jeff Harrow, who occasionally contributes to the "Other Voices" column in CONTROL, is one of the ur-parents of email newsletters. I remember receiving his then newsletter, "The Rapidly Changing Face of Computing" weekly during most of the 1990s, and it was required reading for techies in Silicon Valley, Redmond, India and elsewhere. He was a Digital Fellow, a Compaq Fellow, and is still a really fine fellow, now that those honors are things of the past. He now publishes, rather occasionally, an e-newsletter called The Harrow Report. Jeff will be contributing to "Other Voices" four times next year, so look for his byline in CONTROL. Here is his latest Harrow Report - The Genetic Revolution Is Already Here! Jeff was honored at ISA2005 in Chicago, by being named the Rimbach Lecturer. This keynote lecture is sponsored by the Rimbach family in the name and memory of Richard Rimbach, Sr., who was one of the founders of ISA. On a personal note, I've been trying to get Jeff to speak at ISA since my tenure in the mid-90s as Keynote and Plenary Speakers Subcommittee Chair of the Conference and Exhibit Committee.
