Metering Pump Manufacturer Focuses on Employees after Hurricane
08/18/2004
“We were pretty much at ground zero of the hurricane,” says Bob Manion, president of Pulsafeeder Standard Products Organization in Punta Gorda, Fla. “Our building sustained a lot of roof damage and we lost all of our shipping/receiving doors.” Pulsafeeder’s plant in Punta Gorda builds metering pumps and analyzers. “All of our employees are alive and safe but several have completely lost everything,” Manion went on. “We are focusing on our employees first and the business second. The great news is that contractors have installed a temporary EPDM roof and are already working on the permanent replacement roof. Our phone lines are back in service, our business system is up via generators. We have been processing orders since August 16th and we started shipping August 17th.”
