SAP Users Adopt Datasweep Solutions for Compliant Manufacturing

Datasweep, Inc., a software solutions company supporting manufacturing performance improvement and quality management based in San Jose, CA, has announced that SAP has officially certified the interface between the Datasweep Advantage Suite and SAP's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) product line.

According to ARC Advisory Group research director Greg Gorbach, "ERP systems weren't initially created to support the intricate, rapidly-changing shop floor transactions that Datasweep solutions are designed to handle. Most companies, even those running large ERP systems, track their detailed production operations using supplemental systems--usually paper-based or home-grown. But that can lead to a mountain of paperwork or tough-to-maintain code, especially for companies under stringent government regulation," Gorbach added. "Whether it's due to Sarbanes-Oxley or the FDA, companies are searching for ways to reduce the cost of compliance. The ultimate goal is to build compliance into a company's systems and processes, and eliminate added paperwork."

Datasweep's SAP adapter allows detailed, real-time, two-way communication between SAP and Datasweep applications. Datasweep's Integration Manager coordinates the interchange and runs as a server-side process on a variety of operating systems and environments, including Microsoft Windows, Hewlett-Packard HP-UX, open source Linux, IBM WebSphere and BEA WebLogic.
