Honeywell signs agreement with Linde for UniSim Design Suite
Linde's Engineering Division will use the system for process design projects across the world. As part of the contract, Honeywell will also enter a joint development program with Linde in order to further improve the engineering efficiency.
Honeywell's UniSim Design Suite and the joint development program are ideally suited to Lindes needs, providing what we believe will be the best in future simulation software for process design of our olefin, hydrogen and synthesis gas plants," said Dr. Gabriele Engl, manager of Information Systems for Process Engineering at Linde Engineering Division. "UniSim Design will allow our engineers to improve process calculations and more easily determine the most economical and reliable plant design."
This is an important vote of confidence for Honeywell's UniSim Design Suite and highlights its value to engineering firms and customers who need to optimise process design," said Paul Orzeske, vice president and general manager for Honeywell Process Solutions EMEA. "Using UniSim Design Suite, Honeywell's customers can get better value from their investment in simulation at every step of the plants lifecycle.
One of the key reasons we chose Honeywell was its flexibility in meeting our requirements," added Dr. Engl. "Honeywell provided a strong, experienced team throughout the bidding and evaluation process and proved that it had the support and development infrastructure in place to handle current and future Linde needs."
UniSim Design Suite provides a tool to help engineers create optimal process designs based on critical business objectives. Using industry-specific unit operation models and powerful tools to optimize operating parameters for feedstock changes, UniSim Design enables the steady-state and dynamic simulation of oil, gas and refining processes.
