TUV Rheinland to host international safety symposium

NEWTOWN, CT— Manufacturers, engineers, systems integrators, and safety testing authorities will convene at TÜV Rheinland’s 2nd International Safety Symposium in Galveston, Texas from April 24-25, 2007.
The symposium provides a forum to learn and exchange expertise about recent developments in product safety and international standards concerning functional safety. Individuals who plan, produce, operate, test and approve plants and safety-related systems are among those invited to attend.
At the two-day event in Texas, international experts will provide an overview of worldwide developments in the functional safety area. Global manufacturers, integrators and end-users of safety-related products will present their insights on assuring functional safety within various application areas.
Topics at the symposium include:
IEC 615108, Functional safety of electrical/electronic/programmable electronic safety-related systems
- Sector specific standards such as IEC 61511 and IEC 62061
- Software tools for application software development and tests
- Safety bus systems
- Safety-oriented product life cycles
- Examples of applications in process and in the production industry

The 2nd International Safety Symposium will take place at the Galveston Island Convention Centre at The San Luis Resort in Galveston, Texas. Early Bird registration rates are $600 per person until March 15. After that date, the cost will increase to $750 per person. Attendees may reserve a room at the Hilton Galveston Island Resort at the event’s special rate of $115 per night.
