exida purchases AIM SILSuiteT software
Sellersville, Pa., December 3 - exida.com, LLC today has announced the purchase of a license to merge the Asset Integrity Management (AIM) SILSuite product line into the exSILentia Suite. The SILSuite product line is a set ofleading software tools that have been widely adopted in Europe and is used by many global refining and chemical companies. The strengths of SILSuite complement the strengths of exidas exSILentia product offering and allow exida to broaden its safety life cycle software solution.
SILSuite is a comprehensive product with modules that address many phases of the safety life cycle. SILSuite modules include SILAlarm, SILHazop, SILClass and SILCalc. Iwan van Beurden, exida director of engineering, stated that the integration of these two software platforms will result in an unparalleled tool for customers striving to increase functional safety and achieve compliance while managing costs.
Ted Heale of AIM stated that exida was a perfect strategic fit to leverage the strong technology embedded in the SILSuite software product. Clive Timms of AIM stated "The real need for SIS practitioners is to have a good set of integrated life cycle tools to aid compliance with the standard and reduce the time and associated costs with each life cycle stage."
exida plans to support both product platforms and integrate the features into a combined product that will be marketed under the exSILentia brand. The combination of SILSuites integrated safety life cycle concepts with exSILentias extensive equipment database and unmatched SIL verification engine will result in a clear market leading solution for functional safety customers.
