Allegheny Energy selects Ivara asset management system
01/23/2008
Burlington, Ont. – Ivara Corporation has announced that Allegheny Energy Inc., an electric utility headquartered in Greensburg, Pa., selected Ivara EXP Enterprise software to prevent equipment failure, lower costs and improve operational performance.
Allegheny Energy is an investor-owned electric utility that owns and operates generating facilities and delivers low-cost, reliable electric service to over 1.5 million customers in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland and Virginia. The company will implement Ivara EXP Enterprise software at its Harrison Power Plant in West Virginia to create technically validated equipment reliability programs that support a proactive process for asset care. Allegheny Energy expects to expand this initiative with the remainder of the generation fleet following the implementation at the Harrison Power Plant.
Ivara EXP asset performance management software provides a cohesive and integrated platform to develop, implement and manage a living equipment reliability program. EXP, supported by advanced reliability practices, enables Ivara’s renowned proactive asset reliability process.
“Our vision is to be a top-performing, high growth utility and we recognize that ensuring the reliability of our assets is a key enabler of this vision,” says Leo Rajter, VP, Generation Operations, Allegheny Energy. “With EXP Enterprise we anticipate reduced costs while improving plant availability to help us continue to meet and exceed the emerging needs of our customers.”
