02/28/2008
Germantown, Md. –– Feb. 28 -- Wilcoxon Research, a supplier of quality vibration sensors and sensor networks, successfully completed an audit to maintain ISO 14001 certification, an internationally recognized standard indicating a company complies with all applicable environmental regulations and has established environmental improvement projects. Wilcoxon holds current ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System certification and ATEX Quality Assurance Notification certification as well. The ISO 14001 certification demonstrates Wilcoxon's commitment to the environment and dedication to reviewing the effect the company’s operations have on the global community. The audit included a review of existing practices and the environmental improvement projects that are a hallmark of the program. Wilcoxon first obtained registration to ISO 14001:2004 in January 2006 and maintains the certification through Certech Registrations.
Established by the International Organization for Standardization, ISO 14001 certification is designed to encourage ongoing improvements in environmental performance. ISO is the source of the ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 families of quality and environmental management standards adopted in over 150 countries.
Wilcoxon also holds ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System certification. Registration to ISO 9001:2000 demonstrates Wilcoxon’s commitment to quality and continuous improvement and ensures that a company has implemented effective processes to address the quality of the company’s products and services, satisfaction of its customers and the continuous improvement of the company’s processes. Wilcoxon first attained registration to ISO 9001 in 1998 and has maintained registration continuously to date through Factory Mutual Approvals.
ATEX Quality Assurance Notification (QAN) to European Standard EN 13980 is required for any manufacturer wishing to place electrical products intended for use in a hazardous location on the European market. Wilcoxon has the largest selection of accelerometers for industrial condition-based monitoring and maintains certifications and registrations for hazardous area equipment through several agencies in the U.S. (Factory Mutual), Canada (CSA), Australia (SIMTARS), and Europe (SIRA, KEMA, and INERIS).
