03/13/2008
Research Triangle Part, N.C., March 13 - WBF, Control magazine and Yokogawa are pleased to announce that Yokogawa will sponsor the 2008 Process Automation Hall of Fame Dinner on Monday, March 24, during the WBF 2008 North American Conference at the Dolce Valley Hotel and Conference Center, King of Prussia, Pa.
"Yokogawa is pleased to be involved with such a prestigious event," said Maurice Wilkins, vice president, Yokogawa Global Strategic Marketing Center, and chairman of WBF. "We would like to offer our congratulations to this year's inductees and our thanks for making a difference in this industry."
Control magazine has honored three icons of the process automation industry each year for the past eight years. These honorees come from every aspect of the automation industry and include such famed control engineers as Greg Shinskey, Bela Liptak and Dick Morley. The 2008 class of inductees includes Vernon Trevathan, William M. Hawkins and Dale E. Seborg. Learn more about each honoree by visiting http://www.controlglobal.com/halloffame.html.
"We are delighted that Yokogawa is sponsoring the Hall of Fame dinner," said Walt Boyes, editor in chief, Control magazine. "We believe that it is important to recognize the efforts of the automation leaders who brought us to where we are as a discipline and to preserve their accomplishments for the future."
WBF Executive Director Mike Marlowe added, "WBF is pleased to once again host the Control Process Automation Hall of Fame Dinner. I can't think of a more suitable event than the WBF North American Conference to recognize outstanding individuals that have dedicated their professional lives to the betterment of the automation industry."
The Process Automation Hall of Fame Dinner is one of the many networking opportunities available at the North American Conference. Other events include the WBF Networking Reception; the Sponsor Showcase and Reception, where WBF will present its own Dr. Guido and Tom Fisher Awards; and the Keynote Social. These events are open to WBF North American Conference attendees and award honorees only. The conference, whose theme is "Shaping the Future of Manufacturing," will focus on automation standards for process and factory operations. Attendees will hear from industry professionals and learn how the standards they work with each day have positively impacted automation and manufacturing.
