Yokogawa Electric Corporation has announced that Yokogawa Engineering Asia Pte. Ltd. and Yokogawa Europe Branches B.V. Sucursal De Angola have concluded a Frame agreement with BP Exploration (Angola) Limited for its Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) Program in Angola.

BP Angola is currently considering the development of up to four additional offshore oil fields. "Yokogawa is extremely honored to be the main automation contractor for this major program." said Teruyoshi Minaki, director and executive vice president of the International Business Headquarters. "Yokogawa will deliver reliable upstream automation solutions employing its Leading Edge Technology for BP's program. We are looking to develop and strengthen our long-term performance-based relationship with BP.”
The award of this contract to Yokogawa follows an intensive year-long evaluation by BP Angola. This is Yokogawa's largest project in Africa. The company will fully utilize Angolan resources to contribute to the country and meet Angolan content requirements.
