BASF picks PAS for alarm management

Houston, Texas - PAS, a provider of alarm management software and consulting services for the process industries, has announced that BASF has selected its alarm management software for its enterprise-wide alarm management initiative. The agreement enables BASF to deploy PAS’ PlantState Suite (PSS) software throughout BASF operating facilities worldwide.
 
PAS'  real-time alarm management software suite includes alarm and event data collection and analysis, performance metrics manager, documentation and rationalization, state-based alarm handling, flood suppression, alarm shelving, as well as audit-and-enforce to keep alarm systems performing optimally.
 
“PAS is pleased to support BASF’s corporate alarm management improvement initiative that will help enhance plant operability and efficiency,” said Bijan Habibi, PAS vice-president of international operations.
 
“BASF conducted a rigorous evaluation of available alarm-management technologies and selected PAS as its partner because PAS offers currently the most valuable solution for BASF.” said Simon Kronemeier, automation technology BASF, Ludwigshafen, Germany.  “As a corporate initiative, we plan to use PAS software to monitor and improve alarms within each of our operating plants.”
