ICONICS and OPCTI collaborate on OPC training
09/12/2008
Foxborough, Mass. — September 12 — Today, Iconics, provider of Web-enabled, OPC-based, HMI/SCADA visualization and manufacturing intelligence software for Microsoft Windows operating systems, announces its collaboration with OPC Training Institute (OPCTI), headquartered in Alberta, Canada, in its OPC training courses as well as Iconics’ selection as a preferred vendor of OPC servers and toolkits.
OPCTI (www.opcti.com) is the largest OPC training company in the world, offering hands-on classes both in person and online. OPCTI focuses strictly on training and does not sell its own products. OPCTI is an active member and strong supporter of the OPC Foundation (www.opcfoundation.org) and counts Iconics among its industry partners and uses Iconics solutions as part of its training offerings.
Iconics’ OPC-integrated solutions feature key technologies such as OPC tunneling-- connecting any remote OPC server to a client in a robust manner, allowing for real-time data to be redirected to more than one location.
“Iconics OPC servers are used in the ‘hands-on’ portion of our trainings,“ said Randy Kondor, President of OPCTI. “It is one of multiple servers to which we connect. Additional Iconics solutions featuring tunneling, redundancy and data exchange are also mentioned.“
“Iconics is honored to be included in OPCTI’s training programs,“ said Russ Agrusa, president and CEO of Iconics, “as well as to have our OPC-integrated solutions discussed as they relate to real-world industrial automation applications. We look forward to furthering the relationship between our companies and expanding the reach of OPC technology.“
OPCTI’s demonstrative and hands-on environment excels the end user’s efficiency in OPC technology products, systems and equipment. Harnessing information from their instructors, partners and clients, these vendor-neutral workshops becomes an OPC technology productivity building experience. The Certified OPC Professional (COP) designation is endorsed by many OPC Foundation member companies. Holders of the COP designation have demonstrated proficiency with OPC technology, design architecture, installations.
