Performix demos integrated batch MES for chemical industry

Oct. 2, 2008
Newtown Square, Pa., Oct. 1-- Performix, a developer of composite applications for streamlining recipe management, manufacturing execution and electronic batch recording (EBR), today announced it is demonstrating a fully integrated batch manufacturing execution solution for chemical industry customers at the ChemITC Annual Conference on October 1 at the SAP Americas headquarters in Newtown Square, Pa.In support of SAP’s “Perfect Plant” initiative, Performix and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) are showcasing a combination of solutions -- including SAP Business Suite applications, the SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP MII) application, and Performix’s xMES Process composite application -- working together to give users network-wide visibility, enable plant-to-enterprise data integration and facilitate deployment of batch manufacturing processes across multiple plants. According to Alison Smith, research director, AMR Research, “For users choosing to leverage already substantial investments in SAP, composite applications –- especially those based on SAP MII –- take advantage of master data already resident in SAP, built-in access to the SAP transaction interface or alternatively, enterprise manufacturing services, while providing easy access to data that’s defined, augmented and enhanced by shop floor batch engines. Therefore, Performix xMES is a must-see.”For customers in the chemical industry, Performix xMES Process delivers manufacturing execution system (MES) functionality that leverages existing business system investments and infrastructure while accelerating manufacturing visibility and control.  Unlike traditional MES solutions that create significant functional overlap with existing back-end ERP solutions, Performix xMES Process complements SAP MII and SAP ERP as the core of the manufacturing IT landscape and further extends manufacturing execution capabilities for customers.“Performix’s mission is to provide manufacturing customers with industry-focused, composite applications that complete the MES solution,” said Sham Afzalpurkar, chief executive officer and founder, Performix.  “This collaboration exemplifies our mission by showcasing an integrated solution that enables chemical industry manufacturers to increase time-to-market while protecting their current investments and reducing costs.  We are excited to be participating in this demonstration to help the industry reach the next level of manufacturing excellence.”
