Green Hills Software forms software performance division

Santa Barbara, Calif., December 10 — Green Hills Software, Inc., maker of device software optimization (DSO) and real-time operating systems (RTOS) for 32- and 64-bit embedded systems, today announced that it has formed a new division, Software Acceleration. Software Acceleration will provide consulting services, leveraging the company’s extensive software performance engineering expertise, to make products run faster, use less power and require less memory. Software Acceleration uses an extensive library of advanced profiling and optimization tools, combined with expert application methodology, to ensure success - backed by the company's Software Performance Guarantee.

Green Hills Software has been selected more than all other companies combined (including Wind River, GNU and Microsoft) for use on out-of-the box EEMBC benchmark performance results. The EEMBC benchmark programs are comprised of real-world applications from the automotive, consumer, networking, office automation, and telecom industries. Thus, the benchmarks reflect the demands typically found in production embedded systems (as opposed to the Dhrystone benchmark MIPS).
