Green Hills Software supports latest versions of Intel Atom Z5xx series
03/03/2009
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — March 3, 2009 — Green Hills Software today announced the early availability of its embedded software development solution for the latest options for the Intel Atom processor Z5xx series, which includes an industrial temperature range of -40˚ C to +85˚ C. These are the Intel Atom processor Z520PT and the Intel Atom processor Z510PT. The Green Hills Software solution includes the INTEGRITY real-time operating system and virtualization technology, MULTI integrated development environment (IDE), optimizing C/C++ compilers, and DoubleCheck static analyzer.
The INTEGRITY RTOS is the foundation for Green Hills Software’s Platform for Industrial Safety, with certification by TÜV to IEC 61508 at Safety Integrity Level 3 (SIL3). INTEGRITY is also the first operating system technology certified to EAL6+ High Robustness, the highest Common Criteria security level ever achieved for an operating system. Only an EAL6+ High Robustness operating system is certified to protect high value resources from sophisticated attackers.
With open standards support, POSIX conformant interfaces and the ability to host general-purpose operating systems, such as Linux, in virtual machines, INTEGRITY can run more application software than any other operating platform.
“We are pleased to support the new industrial temperature options for the Intel Atom processor Z5xx series,” commented Dan Mender, vice president of business development, Green Hills Software. “Modern embedded system designs place ambitious reliability, time-to-market, and time-in-market demands on hardware and software designers. The combination of INTEGRITY and the Intel Atom processor Z5xx series platform provides a compelling solution to this challenge.”
