Omron STI offer safety courses in SE Asia

April 20, 2009

FREMONT, Calif.– The Omron Scientific Technologies comprehensive suite of machine and process safety services is now available to manufacturers in Southeast Asia. Safety services are available as a full solution or on an a la carte basis and include machine and process safety education, assessment and risk identification, engineering and design, as well as integration and implementation.

“While a variety of assessment and risk identification processes exist in the market, Omron STI believes that its machine and process safeguarding assessment and risk reduction solution offers the greatest value because, along with a risk level score, the assessment report provides a prioritized corrective action score for each machine. This allows the user to target funds to the most needed areas,” says John Peabody, Omron vice president of major accounts. “In addition, our report provides detailed corrective action recommendations along with a conceptual drawing of the guarding to allow the user to see what the machine will look like after it is guarded. An Omron STI report also states what the risk level will be after the recommended guarding is implemented."

Available education services include a safety and health training software program, safe distance measurement tools, Skill Builder training and guest speaker programs, and free on-site product and application training.

Manufacturers can also select from a number of engineering and design and integration and implementation services to tailor a solution to meet their needs. These programs include turn-key safeguard integration, machine safeguarding evaluation/risk level identification/risk reduction, safety system interface engineering and design, machine or process safety consulting, safety project engineering/design, project management, and annual machine safety check-ups.
