Meggitt Control Systems and Green Hills Software build cabin air system
05/19/2009
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — Green Hills Software today announced that Meggitt Control Systems is using Green Hills Software’s comprehensive software development solutions to build a cabin air temperature control system for private cabin-class jets. The Meggitt Control Systems’ bleed air system will be used on the Embraer Legacy 500 midsize and 450 midlight business jets.
Meggitt Control Systems chose Green Hills Software because of its single vendor support for the MULTI compiler, debugger, Green Hills Probe JTAG and other tools. The MULTI IDE is pre-configured to support the Freescale 55xx target, assisting with ease in processor bring-up and resulting in savings in schedule time and expenses.
The Meggitt Control Systems Pneumatic System will actively control a series of smart and shut-off valves to supply air from the aircraft jet engines to several systems aboard the aircraft. These systems include cockpit, cargo and cabin environmental and pressurization systems. Bleed air from the jet engines is also supplied to the aircraft’s anti-icing system. Meggitt’s Control System will be certified to DO-178B Level A standards, underscoring the critical nature of the pneumatic system.
