A Bit of Help in Tough Times

Dec. 2, 2009

National Instruments UK & Ireland is to support engineers who have recently been made redundant by greatly reducing the cost of LabVIEW training and certification. Engineers can take two training courses and a certification exam, for example, LabVIEW Basics I & II, and the Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD) Certification exam, for just £395, a saving of over £1,800. Individual scheduled training courses at NI's Newbury, UK facility can be taken for £195. The aim is to increase redundant engineers' software development skills and help to boost their career potential with an additional professional qualification. Successful certification will see them join a growing band of over 3,000 certified professionals worldwide. To qualify for the reduced-price training, applicants should hold an engineering degree, although other degrees or experience may qualify in some cases, and have been unemployed for less than six months. Seats are assigned on the basis of date and availability for a specific course, as well as of complying with the prerequisites of the class. Attendees are responsible for their own travel expenses, meals and lodging. Engineers can also explore employment opportunities via the NI LabVIEW Career Network.
