Emerson acquires Innovative Control Systems Inc.

Emerson Process Management has acquired Clifton Park, N.Y.-based Innovative Control Systems Inc. (ICS), a leader in turbine control upgrades for power generation applications.

PITTSBURGH — Emerson Process Management has acquired Clifton Park, N.Y.-based Innovative Control Systems Inc. (ICS), a leader in turbine control upgrades for power generation applications. The acquisition expands Emerson's capabilities in the growing combustion turbine automation market. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

ICS provides turnkey solutions, including planning, engineering, configuration, installationand commissioning, for turbomachinery automation retrofits. This complements Emerson's expertise in turbine condition monitoring and protection systems, instrumentation, analyzers and valves.

Founded in 1991, ICS has completed more than 300 turbine control retrofit projects on turbines manufactured by GE, Siemens, Pratt & Whitney, Alstom, Rolls Royce and Solar, among others. ICS employees have extensive engineering applications expertise and experience with customers located across the globe, primarily in North America, the Middle East and Latin America.


As part of Emerson Process Management's Power and Water Solutions, ICS will continue to support its existing customer base and deliver hardware-independent engineered solutions while adding the Ovation platform to its expanded portfolio of combustion turbine control solutions.
