Bosch Rexroth Increases Commitment to ODVA and EtherNet/IP Advancements

ODVA announced that Bosch Rexroth, one of the world's leading specialists in the field of drive and control technologies, will become one of the organization's principal members, joining leading suppliers Cisco Systems, Rockwell Automation, Omron and Schneider Electric. Bosch Rexroth's increased participation builds on its long-term support of ODVA technologies and the ODVA organization in which it has been an active member for several years. Users will realize significant benefits in increased availability of ODVA-compliant products under the Rexroth brand, especially those implementing the EtherNet/IP network.
With yet another leading industrial automation supplier supporting ODVA as a principal member, ODVA will have unequalled critical mass among industrial networking organizations. This will help further establish global standards that integrate the three main domains of the industrial enterprise to the market – production, enterprise and utility – through automation and interoperability. As a result, users will benefit from reduced risk through lower cost of ownership and global, multi-vendor solutions for their automation systems.
ODVA will introduce Bosch Rexroth as a principal member at its 2011 Industry Conference and 14th Annual meeting, to be held March 1-3, 2011 in Phoenix, Arizona, where Bosch Rexroth will also present an overview of the company and its motivation to become a principal member of ODVA.
