McCrometer Forms New Unit via Acquisition

McCrometer (www.mcrometer.com),  in Hemet, Calif., has bought almost all the assets of Automata Inc. (www.automata-inc.com) in Nevada City, Calif. Automata provides satellite and radio telemetry, software and sensors for agricultural and rural water.

This move and the company's earlier acquisition of Adcon Telemetry have provided the basis for the establishment of a new business unit, McCrometer Connect, which will focus on developing and selling complete wireless solutions for agriculture and rural water management applications. 

"The combination of Automata and Adcon gives McCrometer a one-two punch in this space. While both companies have experience across a wide variety of products, it is the combination of Automata and Adcon’s communication options and sensor portfolio that separates us from the competition," says Melissa Aquino, general manager of McCrometer Connect. "Given our combined platform, we're able to deliver tangible value, such as improved yield and water savings, to irrigation districts and large farms."
