Honeywell signed an agreement with Alliance Oil Company, to supply Honeywell Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS) at Alliance Oil Company's Khabarovsk Refinery in far east Russia. The agreement also includes upgrading the plant's security with Radar Video Surveillance (RVS) perimeter security and OptaSense pipelines security.

This five-year agreement states that Alliance Oil will use Experion PKS at its refinery to integrate data from all critical process subsystems to improve decision-making, reduce on-going maintenance costs by enabling operators to more easily monitor and manage all aspects of the production process and improve the productivity and profitability of the production process.

The installation of RVS perimeter security will increase the security at the refinery, by using a Waterside Security System that integrates radar, Automatic Identification System (AIS), video and thermal sensor data. The refinery will also benefit from OptaSense pipeline security to provide early warning of any threats to the refinery's pipeline.

According to Eugene Vorobeichik, general director Alliance Oil Company, the installations of these systems will improve Alliance Oil's competitive advantage by optimizing the company's process efficiencies. "Honeywell's systems provide a complete solution for not only improving our control systems, but also ensuring the security of staff and our facilities," said Vorobeichik.

As part of the agreement, Honeywell experts will also be on-hand to provide specialist training and support to operators at the Khabarovsk Refinery throughout the five-year period.
