NIST Releases Initial Cyber Security Framework Comment Analysis

May 20, 2013
The National Institute for Standards and Technology has released an initial analysis of the hundreds of comments by industry and the public they have received on the Obama Administration's "Improving Critical Infrastructure Cyber Security" executive order.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has posted an analysis of the hundreds of comments from industry and the public it received on the Obama Administration's “Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity” executive order.  According to NIST executives,  NIST intends the analysis to provide background for a conference called the Second Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity Workshop to be held May 29-31, 2013, at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Penna.

As expected, industrial control system security was only very lightly touched on by the analysis, and by the public comments themselves.
