Many HART instruments must be configured when installed, and before their 4-20 mADC loops are installed or powered. The PowerXpress solution provides power for calibration and configuration in this situation.
ProComSol announced on May 23 that they are now distributors for the PowerXpress, HART Power Solution.

The PowerXpress provides power to 2 wire HART devices from the USB port on your PC. The built-in Loop Resistor and taps for both a DMM and a HART modem make this a great productivity enhancing tool. Desktop wire clutter is greatly reduced and connecting to your device for troubleshooting, configuration, or calibration is greatly simplified. According to Jeffrey Dobos, President of ProComSol, Ltd, “The PowerXpress is a perfect accessory for users of our HART Communication products. The PowerXpress makes HART tasks faster and easier, thus saving time and money.”
The PowerXpress is fully configured and ready to work right out of the box. No software to install or hardware to configure. All the operator has to do is connect the PowerXpress power leads to the HART device and insert the PowerXpress USB cable into the USB port on a PC, Tablet, or Laptop. The HART device is now powered. If you need to read loop current, simply plug your DMM into the DMM tap on the PowerXpress. No wires to move and no need to open the loop.
The PowerXpress powered loop provides power for HART Communications by plugging in a HART modem to the HART tap and start ProComSol's DevCom2000 software. There is no need to break the loop to insert a 250 ohm loop resistor.
ProComSol, Ltd was founded in 2005 and has become the leading provider of technically advanced, cost-effective communication solutions to the HART marketplace.
