The Control System Integrators Association (CSIA) announced March 23 that it's selected José Rivera as its new CEO. CSIA's executive director, Bob Lowe is helping Rivera transition into his new role before retiring on June 1.

"CSIA has had tremendous growth and impact on the automation industry, and our future holds even more potential," says P.C. Romano, president of Avid Solutions and CSIA board chairman. "I'm confident that with José’s experience, leadership, and passion, CSIA will seize that opportunity, and further increase our impact on the marketplace."

Most recently, Rivera served as senior vice president of strategy and communications for Schneider Electric's industry business in France. Previously, he worked for 11 years in process automation sales at Emerson Electric in the U.S., U.K., Germany and Puerto Rico, and as a sales engineer at Siemens in Costa Rica and Germany.

Rivera holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., and Lic (MS) and BS degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Costa Rica.
