KBR wins major contract at Fort Hills Oil Sands Project

Reimbursable construction contract awarded to KBR at Alberta facility.

KBR recently annoucned it has been awarded a major contract to provide construction services at the Fort Hills Oil Sands Mining Project. The facility, located 90 kilometers north of Fort McMurray, Alberta, will be provided with construction services by KBR. 

KBR's scope includes onsite construction management and direct hire field construction services at the Fort Hills Secondary Extraction facility. In their recently-awarded contract, KBR will be performing a detailed constructability study for the project.

Work on the projects has commenced and will be executed over the next 18 months, with completion expected in the first quarter of 2017. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
