The global HMI market is projected to grow at a 7.73% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) during 2015-19, according to a recent study by Research and Markets.
The report, "Global Human Machine Interface (HMI) Market 2015-2019," explains requirements for more advanced, faster and more responsive HMIs systems fuel the need for multi-touch HMIs, while increasing use of tablet PCs and smart phones requires that multi-touch panels don't require much user training.
At the same time, it adds that plants seeking higher-efficiency operations are driving the food and beverage, automotive, packaging and other industries to adopt more HMI devices, but there's still a lack of standardized HMIs systems because vendors still offer mostly customized products.
