  • NEMA publishes cable-tray install guide

    The National Electrical Manufac­turers Association (NEMA) recently published its “VE 2-2006, Cable Tray Installation Guidelines, 3rd Edition,” a practical guide for proper installation of cable-tray systems. The guide addresses shipping, handling, storing, and installing cable-tray systems, and includes information on maintenance and system modification.

  • Europe Parliament to regulate chemicals

    Some dangerous chemicals could be banned from the European market and about 30,000 substances used in everyday products ranging from detergents to toys will have to be registered in a central European Union database under a law approved December 13, 2006, by the European Parliament.

  • ISA’s SP100 committee merges working groups

    Wireless Systems for Automation, ISA’s SP100 standards committee, has announced the approval of a motion to merge two working groups. ISA SP100.11, covering industrial process measurement and control, and ISA SP100.14, which focuses on optimized solutions for industrial monitoring, will be combined into ISA SP100.11a, a new working group.
