Enhance Productivity Through Visual Management: Displaying KPIs and Messages on the Plant Floor

Kaizen, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, total quality management and continuous improvement; all of these terms refer, in some form or another, to the efforts of companies as they strive to become more competitive in a global economy. While various strategies are implemented in order to improve productivity, they all have two things in common: one, the collection of key performance indicators (KPIs); and two, the communication of those KPIs to the people who can most affect improvement, the production floor personnel.

This moderated discussion webcast serves as an introduction to the concept of visual management and how it invokes the "Hawthorne Effect" to increase efficiency and reduce downtime. The various solutions for collecting and displaying KPIs and andon messages will also be discussed. We'll conclude with a real-world example of an installed solution, the effect it had on the customer's productivity, and questions and answers from our audience.
