Process and plant engineers in search of a reliable, precision flow/level/temperature switch for use in liquids, air, gases or for interface service will find the new FLT93 Series FlexSwitch Brochure from Fluid Components International (FCI) provides an innovative switch solution with complete product and applications information.
FCI's FLT93 Series FlexSwitch an advanced heavy-duty thermal dispersion technology flow and level switch. Its multi-parameter measurement design provides a rugged long-life instrument.
FLT93 Switches are SIL2 rated for ultra-reliability and found in demanding processes and plants. Ex agency approvals are provided for the entire instrument—FM, FMc, ATEX, IECEx and more. They are ideal for use in oil and gas upstream, refining and downstream applications; wastewater treatment; chemical processing plants; power plants, including nuclear power; food and beverage; mining and metals; manufacturing and more. A sanitary configuration also supports the cleanliness requirements of the pharmaceutical and other industries.
The FLT93 Switch is a dual-function instrument that can be configured for flow or level sensing, flow + temperature sensing or level + temperature sensing. A single FLT measures and monitors flow or level and temperature simultaneously with excellent accuracy and reliability. Dual trip points and 6A relay outputs are standard and are assignable to flow, level or temperature.
The FLT93 performsin high/low pump flow detection, relief valve and flare gas flow or leakage detection, HVAC flow monitoring, drain line flow detection, monitoring of heat exchangers and filter fouling, seal leak and lubricant detection, wet/dry and sump seal detection, vapor recovering, high/low level alarm and control, interface control in separation vessels and high/low temperature alarm.
FCI's sensor technology of the FLT93 Series switches, combined with FlexSwitch temperature compensation circuitry, provide users with flow accuracy as precise as ±2% of the setpoint velocity over ±50°F [±28°C] temperature range; repeatability of ±0.5% reading. Level resolution is ±0.1 inch [±2.5 mm]; repeatability of ±0.05 inch [±1.3 mm]. Standard temperature accuracy is ±2.0°F [±1°C]; repeatability ±1.0˚F [±0.6˚C]; improved temperature accuracy is available with factory calibration.
Two standard sensing element configurations are available to meet your application requirements. The FLT93 S is designed for use in standard heavy industrial applications and in applications with high velocity liquid setpoint requirements; the FLT93 F is designed for fast response gas applications.
A wide selection of standard and custom process connections can be provided with the FLT93 Switch. The electronic control circuit can be integrally-mounted with the sensing element, or it can be located in a remote location. The standard enclosure is made from a coated aluminum alloy. It is suitable for use in ATEX locations and is rated for NEMA Type 4X (IP66) environments. Stainless steel or fiberglass enclosures also are available.
