Weidmuller introduces the new WAVEPak DC/DC isolator – a cost-effective, adjustable conditioning solution for applications with high-level signals, such as flow transmitters in process applications.

Weidmuller's WAVEPak DC/DC isolator is a cost-effective, adjustable conditioning solution for applications with high-level signals, such as flow transmitters in process applications. It is designed to interface between field equipment and control systems, converting and isolating signals with a high level of accuracy that exceeds 0.1%.

A four-wire DC isolator with complete three-way isolation, its voltage or current inputs and outputs can be internally selected, and easily scaled via pushbuttons located on the front of the module. Outputs can be configured as direct or reverse action, as required by the application. The WAVEPak DC/DC gives users the ability to select either current sink or loop-powered input mode, allowing the module to be an active or passive input circuit. 24VDC power for two-wire transmitters also provides the flexibility to drive additional load in an active input loop, which simplifies field wiring and reduces the need for field device power supplies.

The unique integrated test terminals allow testing of input and output current values without removing cables. LED indicators display the signal status for troubleshooting and maximized system uptime. Supplied from any auxiliary voltage from 12 to 60 VDC, the WAVEPak DC/DC can drive output current loads up to 1KΩ. This feature allows additional devices, such as local indicators and chart recorders, to be powered in the same loop without additional power supplies. High-level 3-port isolation between input, output and supply ensures signals are protected from electrical interference and ground loops. WAVEPak has a space-saving 12.5 mm wide design, mounts on TS35 DIN-rail and features both CE and cULus approvals.
