Plants convert sunshine into energy sources (glucose, cellulose) while exhausting oxygen. The reversible fuel cell is similar. The regular fuel cell is an electrochemical device that converts the chemical energy of a fuel (without combustion) into electricity. A reversible fuel cell (RFC) operates in two directions. In its "reverse" mode, it generates hydrogen from electricity and water, while in the "forward" mode it generates electricity from hydrogen.
