Email page

This document summarizes important security principles that should be considered when designing and procuring control systems products (software, systems and networks), and provides example language to incorporate into specifications that address these concerns.

Prepared by Idaho National Laboratory

THIS DOCUMENT reflects research and many laboratory and insitu investigations of control system security vulnerabilities and harvests the resulted knowledge to specifically enhance the integrity and availability of control systems through common security requirement language for procurements and maintenance contracts.

This document is a tool kit designed to reduce cyber security risk in control systems by asking technology providers, through the procurement cycle, to assist in managing known vulnerabilities and weaknesses, by delivering more secure systems. It targets high value security risk reduction opportunities achieved through the procurement cycle.
