2014 Educational Scholarship Recipients Selected
The Fieldbus Foundation has selected the 2014 recipients of the James O. Gray Scholarship Fund. The program honors the memory of James (Jim) O. Gray, a long-time leader in the Fieldbus Foundation who passed away in 2002, and maintains a perpetual $250,000 endowment fund providing scholarships to students seeking a career in the industrial automation profession. Device Description Library Updated to Version 3.8.1
The Fieldbus Foundation has issued the latest update to its FOUNDATION fieldbus Device Description (DD) Library. Version 3.8.1 release addresses an anomaly in the COMPATIBILITY_REV parameter, which enables device manufacturers to build backwards-compatible devices capable of operating on a prior device revision's DD. Developers should download this latest version of the DD Library. Read more »

Usability Initiative Enhances FOUNDATION Technical Specifications
The Fieldbus Foundation announced a new initiative to enhance its open, non-proprietary FOUNDATION fieldbus technical specifications. As part of the Fieldbus Foundation Usability Initiative, new features to the technical specifications will improve the usability of FOUNDATION technology, with the ultimate goal of making the digital fieldbus automation experience easier than conventional analog control systems.
