FieldComm Group Looks to the Future of Fieldbus
As previously announced in this newsletter, the boards of directors for the Fieldbus Foundation and HART Communication Foundation have approved the merger of our two organizations — ushering in a new era in industrial automation. Fieldbus Foundation Registration Hits 1,000 Device Milestone
The Fieldbus Foundation announced it has reached the milestone of 1,000 registered devices. The foundation’s rigorous program ensures registered fieldbus devices deliver all the benefits of the FOUNDATION protocol and are fully interoperable with other registered devices on the same fieldbus control network. The number of FOUNDATION fieldbus products registered by the Fieldbus Foundation continues to grow. The foundation is one of the few automation industry organizations with a registration program requiring mandatory testing of critical elements of its technology. The effort encompasses FOUNDATION fieldbus host systems and field devices and physical layer components such as power supplies and device couplers from all segments of the automation market.
