Honeywell's gone into the video business--no made-for-TV movies yet, but a nice 6 1/2-minute number on its "Ask Dr. Larry" series explaining its new, soon-to-be-released Smart Position Sensor. Here's the skinny from the news release:

To better inform engineers of the advantages of using its SMART Position Sensor, Honeywell (NYSE: HON) has added a streaming video demonstration of these new sensors to its Web site (www.honeywell.com/sensing ). The video highlights the sensor's ability to improve safety, operational efficiency, reliability, and durability, and reduce total cost of ownership.

The six-and-a-half-minute video allows engineers worldwide to see how the SMART Position Sensor works and the technology behind it, including the application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC), magnetoresistive (MR) bridges, CAN bus circuit, printed circuit board assembly, and built-in redundancy.

The sensor is scheduled for release in late 2009. The link to the video is here.
