NEWTOWN, Conn. — TÜVRheinland will host a three-day functional safety training event. The event will provide classroom instruction in the area of functional safety according to IEC 61508, IEC 61511 and other relevant international standards. This program targets engineers and product managers with functional safety responsibilities and individuals seeking a deeper understanding in the field of functional safety.
Functional safety and its national derivative standards are revolutionizing all traditional fields of safety design and testing. Understanding these new standards is essential for anyone engaged in the design, commissioning and risk-prevention activities that are all part of safe devices, machinery and facilities.
The program will take place Monday, June 8, through Wednesday, June 10, at a conveniently located hotel meeting room within a few miles of Boston. Leading the seminar will be Heinz Gall, the manager of the business sector Automation, Software and Information Technology of TÜVRheinland Industrie Service GmbH. Co-presenting will be Matthias Haynl, the business field manager for functional safety at TÜVRheinland, who brings his international experience in the application of functional safety requirements for the machinery and process industries to North America.
Engineers who are working in the field of functional safety for many years have the option to obtain an official verification of their expertise. By passing a final exam successfully on the optional fourth day, they will receive the coveted TÜVRheinland Functional Safety Engineer certificate.
