2015 is coming to an end. Here are the latest business agreements made in the process automation industry
  • Advantech Corp. reported Nov. 16 that it's agreed to acquired B+B SmartWorx Inc. for almost $100 million. The transaction is expected to close in early 2016.
  • Honeywell Process Solutions announced Dec. 1 that LUXI Chemical Group Co., Ltd., has selected its process technology and automation controls to convert coal to key plastic building blocks. LUXI will use Honeywell UOP's Advanced Methanol-to-Olefins (MTO) process to convert methanol derived from gasified coal into 293,000 metric tons per year of ethylene and propylene at its facility in Liaocheng, Shandong Province, China.
  • NovaTech reports it recently provided the control system, applications engineering and multilingual operator displays for Archer Daniels Midland's new 18,000-metric-tons-per-year Fibersol facility in Tianjin, China.
  • Beckhoff Automation introduced Nov. 30 its TwinCAT HMI system, which uses IT-based standards such as Microsoft Visual Studio for engineering, HTML5 for design and Websockets and HTTPS for secure communications, and doesn't require programming.
  • Yokogawa Electric Corp. has received a Type 1 report on the internal controls it employs in the provision of production control systems and secured remote solution services at its customers' plants. This report complies with the ISAE 3402 international standard and the SSAE 16 U.S. standard, both of which address the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal controls at service organizations.
