ARC, GE Fanuc, Proficy Process Systems, process automation systems, pharmaceuticals, food & beverage, ethanol, power, water/wastewater, oil & gas,  ARC guru Larry O'Brien reports the following news on the ARC website: "GE Fanuc will officially launch its Proficy Process Systems in summer of 2007, thus having the distinction of being the first major new entrant to the process automation system (PAS) market in several years.  Many have speculated on when GE Fanuc would make a serious play for the process automation marketplace after the company and its parent GE embarked on a series of automation related acquisitions over the past five years, such as the acquisition of Intellution in October 2002.  This time, GE Fanuc is approaching the process automation market with a full-scale offering, ranging from a common control and I/O platform to human machine interface, engineering, and integrated production management functionality. " To read the rest of the article, go here.
