This came in this morning from Mark Wells at RunFactory.com, one of the members of the CONTROL Editorial Advisory Board... Walt, "The top 50 suppliers in North America" was interesting. My hope is for follow- up articles on the top 50 suppliers in Europe and the top 50 suppliers in Asia. If market share is significant, maybe the top 50 suppliers in other areas would be interesting as well - i.e. the Middle East or South America. I'd like to give you a feel for why this would be good information for all readers, including North Americans. I did studies of global manufacturing output about six years ago and was constantly astonished at how high France kept rating (maybe in the top 5). Prior to my research, my media fed knowledge never hinted at what a huge force France was. Now that I'm in Ireland, I get a better feel for it. Peugeot seems to be the most popular car in my neighbourhood, with Citroens and Renaults everywhere. I have had colleagues leave their consulting jobs with Irish pharma projects to work on petrochemical projects - in France. I'd like your magazine to continue to open people's eyes. - Mark Wells You will all be pleased to know that the Top 50 Committee are discussing ways to improve the Top 50, and make it even more useful to the end users who are the real audience of CONTROL.
