…a scary thought…

I wanted to point out an electronic impact (I didn't use the word cyber, but probably could) that has affected several SCADA systems. It deals with the Navy doing pulse radar testing and the radar impacting SCADA performance. After the first (I think) event, the Navy said they would move their radar testing further out to sea. Apparently, this is not a Navy-wide policy, but should be.

  • Hi, Just wanted to pipe in that this would also could also affect systems located near costal areas/ports (regular ship's radar), airports and associated air traffic control radar facilities, high power radio stations AM/FM/TV, etc. For instance, our local airport's radar system would show up on our FFT test sets. As our equipment was RF hardened for use in electrical substation enviroments, we were't affected. I could see where regular off the self gear could be affected.
