April 15, 2024
The partnership will solve large-scale energy and sustainability challenges

Schneider Electric and Hy Stor Energy reported Mar. 20 that they’re supporting development of Hy Stor's Mississippi Clean Hydrogen Hub (MCHH) and its broader U.S. initiative. Hy Stor produces carbon-free, renewable, hydrogen and long-duration storage. They report their partnership will solve large-scale energy and sustainability challenges needed to transition to a renewable. fossil-free energy system.

Schneider will provide Hy Stor with automation and safety products, Aveva process operation and AI optimization software, weather analysis, predictive operations, and digital energy management solutions, as well as commissioning, operational analytical tools and support. This project will fulfill Hy Stor Energy's vision of MCHH as the world’s first provider of zero-carbon hydrogen to industry, and give its customers secure, reliable, affordable, green hydrogen with no carbon footprint or methane emissions.

"From inception to construction, employee training to operational optimization, partnering with Schneider Electric enhances the efficiency, safety and reliability of Hy Stor's renewable-hydrogen and long-duration storage platform," explains Laura Luce, CEO and founder of Hy Stor. "Innovating renewable operations and storage assets is critical for energy transition. We're grateful to have a digital partner that understands the importance of deploying climate-aligned, renewable-hydrogen solutions, and look forward to deploying first-of-its-kind, 100% renewable, fossil-free energy that's dispatchable to our customers 24/7."

Heather Cykoski, SVP for industrial and process automation at Schneider Electric North America, adds that, "We’re excited to partner with Hy Stor Energy, leveraging the strengths and innovation of both companies to advance green hydrogen development in Mississippi and beyond. "Projects like the MCHH will help usher in the transition from fossil fuels to more sustainable forms of energy. Our collaboration will help Hy Stor Energy optimize their facility, from engineering and operation through energy management and storage."
