Jeremy Pollard Chairs Panel Discussion on IEC-61131 at ISA Expo

Sept. 19, 2007

On October 2nd at 2PM at ISA Expo, Jeremy Pollard, columnist for our sister magazine Control Design and system integrator will be chairing a panel discussion on IEC-61131. Joining him will be:

Dick Morley - Modicon founder, and consummate pontificator
Bill Lydon - Managing Director of PLCopen
Julien Chouinard - Managing Director, ICSTriplex IsaGraf

The idea of this panel is to have an open and dynamic discussion where different points of view will be exposed. Morley thinks standards are an ‘embargo on innovation’, while PLCopen supports the standards and the community. Being IEC-61131 compliant doesn’t bring anything to the table for the user. It is just another programming environment.
