Float switches for simple limit value detection in liquids
Float switches are used for simple limit value detection in liquids. Due to the higher density of the liquid, the float switch hovers on the liquid’s surface. The float switch is secured by its cable fastener at a level suitable for the application. The switching process is triggered by rocking movements of the sensor. Initiators and micro-switches are used as switching elements. The float switch consists of a float body with a built-in switching element and a connection cable. The switching element shifts when it crosses the horizontal position in either direction.
These float switches are mainly used for overflow and/or minimum level alarming. They can be connected to an intrinsically safe (IS) switch isolator for operating in approved hazardous area location. They also feature a sleeve or ball design, and are available in various lengths and cable types.
