At least 40% of those surveyed said challenging work was the most important factor in their job satisfaction. In 2009, the number was 42%. Salary and benefits counted most for 18% in 2013. In 2009, it was 19%. Opportunity for advancement counted for 10%, down a full three points from 2009. Job security was unchanged at 12% both years.
