ISA President's Meeting starts today...

Pre-meetings for the ISA President's Meeting this weekend in Chicago begin today. After attending a bushel full of them over the years, it is still hard for me not to get ready and go to one. What I'm hearing is that the ISA leadership, at least most of it, has woken up, and is smelling the smoke from the burning edifice. What this does, in the next few years, remains to be seen. Pre-meetings for the ISA President's Meeting this weekend in Chicago begin today. After attending a bushel full of them over the years, it is still hard for me not to get ready and go to one. What I'm hearing is that the ISA leadership, at least most of it, has woken up, and is smelling the smoke from the burning edifice. What this does, in the next few years, remains to be seen. I've been a member of ISA since 1978, and I want to get to Life Membership when the organization still means something. That's why I keep harping on the need to fix ISA, and why I firmly believe that, despite its current lack of relevance, we need ISA, or we'd have to go invent a similar organization from scratch.
