Mid-summer is the time that the American Society of Business Publication Editors announces the winners of its annual awards for digital and print editorial and design--the Azbees. We're very proud to say that Control and ControlGlobal.com were recognized again this year.
That can be a bit scary, but when the judging comes out in your favor, it's pretty wonderful. Mid-summer is the time that the American Society of Business Publication Editors announces the winners of its annual awards for digital and print editorial and design--the Azbees. We're very proud to say that Control and ControlGlobal.com were recognized again this year.In the Midwest-South Region, our executive editor, Jim Montague, took the Gold for Best In-Depth Feature, More than 1000 Words, for his March 2012 cover story, "Smarter Reality." Our art director, Brian Hertel, won the regional Bronze for his Opening Spread, Computer-Generated Design for the same story. Here's the image.

Brian also won the Silver Award in the same category for his February 2012 spread for the "Cast a Giant Shadow" cover story. Here's that image.


Angela Labate, the art director for Industrial Networking, distributed quarterly with Control, won Gold for her cover for the Q4 edition, "Can We Solve Social Media?" Here's her award-winning image.

On the national level, Editor in Chief Walt Boyes won the Silver award in the Editor"s Letter category for his body of work during 2012.

Not to be outdone, ControlGlobal.com was recognized as one of the Top Ten in the Website of the Year contest.
