As I was posting about it, I was also emailing Leo Staples, who is ISA Treasurer, and chief-automation-cook-and-bottlewasher at OGE. Here's what he said: Funny you should mention video games. At the Department of Labor, a staff member asked our group how video games had anything to do with Automation. I told her that today companies buy simulators when they purchase new control systems. As you know, the simulator is nothing more than a big video game used to expose operators to potential problems and situations. Building a game is a great ideal. If you do not mind, I will pass this along to the ExCom (ISA Executive Committee --ed.). Of course, I will mention where I got the idea.
